Sea Kayaking In Scotland

Sea Kayaking In Scotland With Unexplored Scotland – Adventure Tours

Unexplored Scotland has offered premium sea kayaking in Scotland for the last 8 years and has gone from strength to strength. For the 2017 season the company is still offering great sea kayaking tours in Skye area and at the Summer Isles for 2-5 days throughout the year.

However, this year there will be some improvements to how we are running the trips. Unexplored Scotland has purchase a new range of tents from MSR.

The MSR Remote 2 and Access 2. These are all season tents, which will stand up to any weather Scotland will throw at it and have a lot of room inside for one or 2 people. They are also easy to put up and pack away. To make it easier to sit outside at any weather the company also has now a large tarp to sit under in the evenings even if the weather is not the best. Just like last year they also use the Therm-a-Rest Quadra chairs, which fold down to a small packing size and are incredibly comfortable.

Additionally Unexplored Scotland are gradually replacing our sleeping mats, with fully inflatable mats of 7mm minimum thickness. These Therm-a-Rest sleeping mats will offer the most comfortable sleeping experience, while you are out camping. They also pack down to just a little larger than a Nalgene water bottle. They lightness will also be great for the company’s hillwalking and winter mountaineering tours in the upcoming season. As an additional offer, customers can hire sleeping bags for a small fee. The bags are quality synthetic 3 or 4 season bags from Vango or Oex.

The environment is always at the heart of Unexplored Scotland. While out at popular wild camping areas there are always old teabags found. In the past the instructors working for this outfit has always removed all rubbish including teabags. Yes they are bio degradable. However, as the bags itself are bleached paper it can take months for them to degrade.

From now on the company is going to use loose tea, just like they have always used ground coffee. Since they are very much after quality they have decided to offer only tea from Teapigs. Teapigs is known for its premium quality and put only whole leaves and no dust into their tea (unlike many other popular brands). The tea can then be discarded in the environment, which then will bio degrade much quicker than the teabag counterpart. It also means that customers will get all the flavors of high quality tea.

All these little changes makes a great sea kayaking tour even better.
