Rio de Janeiro Launched “Rio + 3” To Promote Destinations Three Hours From The Capital

The Secretary of Tourism of Rio de Janeiro launched the tab “Rio + 3” to promote tours and tourist destinations that are up to three hours from the capital.



The guide provides information about the history, culture and sights of the municipalities surrounding the capital, as well as calendars of events with major anniversaries of cities.

Angra dos Reis, Paraty and Buzios, three of the 20 cities visited by foreigners during the World Cup in Brazil, according the Ministry of Tourism (Tourism Ministry) must repeat the feat in the 2016 Olympics.

According to the Secretary of Tourism of Rio de Janeiro, Nilo Sergio Felix, “Rio + 3 guide is a facilitator for the tourist visiting the state.”

Last year, more than 1.5 million foreign tourists visited Rio de Janeiro, according to the Statistical Yearbook study ministry.

The city offers the tourist attractions historical, cultural and natural tourism.Some, such as the Christ the Redeemer and Copacabana beach, are known worldwide.

In 2016, Rio will host the Olympic Games, the largest sporting event in the world, as well as test events that have already begun to attract tourists to Rio’s cities.
