OVERVIEW

The “Pacific Asia Travel Association” India Travel Mart will be held at the “Bangalore International Exhibition Centre (BIEC)”.

Held annually in September, PATA Travel Mart 2015 is hosted by Department of Tourism, Government of Karnataka, the 38th of PATA Travel Mart will take place in Bangalore, India on September, 6-8 2015 at Bangalore International Exhibition Center (BIEC).

There are many epithets that grace the description of Bangalore, but its spacious gardens, parks, tree lined avenues, a profusion of flowering trees, lakes and parks, earned it the sobriquet of “Garden City”.  It is the capital city of Karnataka, located 949m above sea level, in South India on the Deccan Plateau, The once-sedate cantonment settlement of the British has now spread way beyond the mud fort and the four towers constructed by its founder Kempegowda in 1537.

With its booming economy and racy lifestyle, the capital of Karnataka is one of India’s fastest growing cities.

It’s a city of contrasts, going by several aliases: India’s Silicon Valley, Pub City, Shopper’s Paradise, Garden City, Air-Conditioned City, and Gourmet’s Delight. The city not only plays host to several international IT companies, reputed educational and research institutions, public sector enterprises and defense organizations, but also lays claim to being the hub of India’s emerging biotech industry.

Bangalore has lots to offer – a rich cultural heritage, historic monuments, cultural centers, traditional arts and crafts stores, exotic cuisine and friendly people. Amusement parks, country clubs, resorts, golf courses, cyber cafes, pubs, discos, bowling alleys, billiard halls, pool parlors, bustling shopping malls, high-rise apartments and sophisticated hotels, together form the new face of Bangalore. Infotainment, entertainment, science and technology parks, wildlife safari parks, all merge into a vibrant, richly textured modern metropolis. It makes an ideal hub for visitors who want to travel to the many hill stations and coastal towns of South India. Lonely Planet rating the city as the No.3 destination in the Best Travel Cities in 2012 has made Bangalore an overnight star, if it wasn’t already.

Almost at the heart of Deccan, this cosmopolitan city is everything a world city needs to be. Pleasant weather, pleasant people, pleasant hangouts… And for its people, being ‘Bangalored’ has a rather affectionate tone to it.
