Japanese Government provides important donation for renewal of equipment INDECI

Today the signing of an exchange of letters whereby the Government of Japan gave Peru a grant of five hundred million yen (about 4.2 million dollars) for the purchase of equipment for the National Institute of Civil Defense was held (INDECI), for the attention of disasters.

On the Peruvian side he signed the document the Foreign Minister, Ambassador Ana Maria Sanchez Rivers and on the side of Japan, Ambassador of that country in Peru, Tatsuya Kabutan.

It should be borne in mind that Japan, a country with which we are linked 142 years of diplomatic relations, is one of the main sources of Peru cooperating.

Our common the so-called Ring of Fire Ocean, geographical area is characterized by intense seismic and volcanic activity belonging; It commits us to carry out continuous monitoring of seismic activity and be properly equipped to deal with any related disasters.

Peru adds to this the cyclical occurrence of El Nino phenomenon affecting the coast of the South Pacific since time immemorial.

This valuable Japanese donation, which is a sign of the strengthening of bilateral ties between the two nations, allow the INDECI have appropriate equipment to timely care in case of disasters.
