TORONTO HAS FASHION, FALL COLOURS AND HALLOWEEN FUN It’s a beautiful time to be in Toronto with the trees showing off their fall colours and the glamorous World MasterCard Fashion Week showing off colours of a different type. With Halloween creeping up, we’ve rounded up a few of the many fun and spooky activities going on in the region. And the country comes to the city as the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair with its 10 days of equine competitions, chef demos and much more take over Exhibition Place.

PRO SPORTS REIGN It’s an exciting time in Toronto with the Blue Jays winning their first playoff series in dramatic fashion and now taking aim at the World Series. Whether you have a ticket for a game or not, baseball fever can be found all over the city in sports bars and at the “Birds’ Nest” in Nathan Phillips Square. #ComeTOgether!

There’s also plenty of other pro sports action to take in as the Toronto FC are in the playoffs for the first time since joining Major League Soccer in 2006. The Maple Leafs have started their highly-anticipated season, the Raptors home opener is October 28 at Air Canada Centre and the Argos are looking to be in the playoffs at Rogers Centre.

BABY PANDAS BORN AT TORONTO ZOO! The Toronto Zoo announced a Canadian first with the birth of two giant panda cubs. Er Shun, the Zoo’s female giant panda, gave birth to the cubs on October 13 and they will remain in the giant panda house for several months before being visible to the public. However, Toronto Zoo staff will provide regular updates on their progress via Twitter. In the meantime, Da Mao, the other giant panda resident at the Toronto Zoo, and many other animals and activities can be enjoyed throughout the year.

Be here for all the excitement when the big guy comes to town November 15, when the European-style Toronto Christmas Market opens for a month on November 20 and as the Cavalcade of Lights kicks things off with live music, fireworks and skating in Nathan Phillips Square on November 28. Catch the tree-lighting ceremony in Celebration Square in Mississauga andall the fun goings on in Brampton too.
