Cuba will participate in the UNESCO International Symposium on educational policies





The International Symposium is the first follow-up meeting then approved the Framework for Action on Education 2030, adopted at the High-level Education 2030, during the 38th General Conference of UNESCO held

FRANCE, January 18, 2016.- Until next January 20 Cuba will participate in the International Symposium on education policies: School Leadership, monitoring and evaluation, and governance for the implementation of the Framework of Action for Education 2030 at the Headquarters of the UNESCO, in Paris.

The Cuban delegation to this meeting is chaired by the CRA. Mercedes Escuredo Olazabal, provincial director of Education in the province of Camaguey, integrated also by representatives of the Cuban National Commission for UNESCO and the Permanent Delegation of Cuba to the Organization.

Monitoring these issues is a core priority for Cuba facing the process initiated as a result of the political will and serious commitment by the Cuban government in the process of implementing the new Education Agenda 2030. Permanent Mission of Cuba to the UNESCO.

The opening ceremony of the symposium, held today, was given by Mr Qian Tang, Deputy Director General of Education, UNESCO, who reiterated the importance of implementing the Framework for Action Education Agenda 2030 and the commitment of the community international, particularly Member States, to achieve the goals set in Objective 4 of the Agenda for Development.

Members participate in this forum of the Organization, representatives of the international educational community, international organizations and civil society. The main issues that shape the agenda for the three days, are grouped under: school leadership, monitoring and evaluation, and governance within the framework of educational Agenda 2030.
